I don’t know why I didn’t try Yoga sooner.  Honestly, I dread all forms of working out (except walking to a PLACE… not just to walk)  treadmills are boring, riding bikes is fun but I don’t have a bike right now, running is annoying, all that “Dance Cardio” crap just makes me feel ridiculous and all I do is laugh and hope Ryan doesn’t walk in on me.

But last night, I picked up a Yoga video and started with the basics.  I loved it.   It’s like a stretch and a workout at the same time.  My body felt long and limber when I was  done.  I’m actually kind of sore this morning.  I really enjoyed it.  NOW, I just need to stick with it.

I’m just doing a DVD right now.  I don’t have the guts to go to a class, at the moment, but I’d like to once I get more familiar with the different positions.  It’s so calming, and my abs actually got a really good workout.  (Take that mom-belly)

My best friend of over 10 years is getting married in May.  I’m the maid of honor and I have to look good. Seriously, she’s getting married and I’ll be right next to her.  I can’t have pictures taken and people remembering my “mom-body.”  Just can’t happen.  So, I’m determined to do yoga every night at least.  Eventually I want to add dreaded running to that mix.

I’ve set some goals which are:

1st goal xxxlbs: High Heels

2nd goal xxxlbs: New Makeup

3rd goal xxxlbs: Hair Done

4th goal: xxxlbs: New Dress

5th and ultimate goal weight xxxlbs: Continue the Tattoo Sleeve.

Yes, I’m that vain.   I think the goal will help, and the fact that it’s all floating around here in cyber space with all my little gnomes to keep me accountable.  I will let you know about the goals as I reach them.

And nope, I’m not going to tell you how much I weigh. lol.

I got my hair cut!

Don’t freak out.  It’s still long, I just look like I got rid of 30 cats and became a hipster.

I love it.

And, before I show you pictures, it’s actually a cool story.  After some bday festivities, Ryan, Daisy and I were strolling downtown and this woman comes up to me and says, “I swear I’m not hitting on you, but I love your look!  Would you be willing to get a trim or something from me and model for my portfolio??”  UHH would I ever!?  I didn’t even know I had a “look.”

Anyway,  the girl was working in this super fancy, high-end salon I could have never been able to afford and she did my hair for free.  All I had to do was let her take pictures after.  There were some crazy good stylists there critiquing her work too!  I had my hair touched by so many people.   OMG she did fantastic.  I’ve never had such a good cut.  Great, now I’ll be addicted to expensive hair cuts lol.

Actually,  my hair stylist asked if I wanted to get drinks with her this week… So maybe I can make a friend and always have these cuts for free…. KIDDING! 😉

Daisy and her daddy are HOT-BOXES!  Sleeping next to them is like sleeping by two of my own personally furnaces.  So, needless to say,  Daddy and Daisy are enjoying this pre-fall weather.

Goofy.

Oh, and the always painful, hard to get out of, worst thing about having long hair… The hair pull.

Oh, Daisy Baby 🙂

I never thought I’d be so excited about butt frosting.  AKA diaper rash cream.  When I was in the hospital after giving birth to Daisy, My friend Anna,  (who is a herbalist)  made me some amazing concoctions.  Mommy Tea, Herbal Sitz Bath, and Mommy and Baby Salve (AKA butt frosting, again just because I like saying that lol)

This salve is amazing.  I recommend it to women who have just given birth, and for skin irritations (my husband used it on his razor burn and it was gone within a day) and my most favorite use is for diaper rash.

Daisy was very sick at her tummy a few weeks ago and had awful diaper rash.  I tried this organic, natural salve and her intense red rash was gone in ONE day.  One day.  It’s made with all natural and organic ingredients like Olive Oil, Plantain, Cocoa Butter and lots of other healing herbs.  I HIGHLY recommend it to all my mommy and pregnant friends (and my mommy and pregnant friends who have husbands who get razor burn.)

Oh, and it’s only $10- so how freakin sweet is that?

Help a fellow hippie out by helping your baby’s butts!

Nature.  I’m so in my own head all the time.  I’m such a writer it’s ridiculous.  I’m very in tuned with my emotions, what I want, what I don’t want, how I’m feeling, wondering about others’ feelings, thinking of pretty words and sentences that go together, different story lines, movies I’ve watched, books I’m reading, Daisy’s development, what’s happening next month and it goes on and on.  You’d probably run away screaming if you could peek into my brain.  But what I need, what makes me step back and just be still and quiet, is most definitely nature.

Which is a big reason why I love daisies so much (thus naming my daughter Daisy).  They’re simple, beautiful and peaceful.  And really, how could you be stressed out or thinking about bills and grocery lists when you’re somewhere as beautiful and perfect as these pictures?  You can’t be.  Because you’re alone, one with the earth, and everything is exactly as it should be.

This reminds me,  I’ve been too busy to even go hiking at all this year.  This needs to change very soon.
